The Series
? The Cyclones boast a 47-23 all-time series edge in the intrastate rivalry. The Hawkeyes were victorious in the last meeting (Feb. 16) by a 194.375-193.800 margin.
Last Time Out
? The No. 19 Iowa State gymnastics team tried to overcome a 1.6-point deficit in the final event (floor) Feb. 12 in Hilton Coliseum but came up just short in the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series match up, falling 194.375-193.800.
Browning Rounding into Form
? Freshman Michelle Browning has shown that the future for the Cyclone is bright with her recent performances. The Houston, Texas native has scored back-to-back 9.900s on floor, and has won three event titles (floor twice and beam at Minnesota) in the past meets. Browning was also named the Mari-Rae Sopper Outstanding Performer at the Iowa meet on Feb. 12.
Iowa, Twice in Four Days
? The Cyclones will battle the Hawkeyes twice in less than a week as the two squads squared off Thursday, Feb. 12 and will meet again Monday, Feb. 16. The first matchup was at Hilton Coliseum and then the two teams will meet in Iowa City at Carver-Hawkeye Arena for the second contest.
Furious Finish
? The final three Cyclone competitors (Anna Robey, Michelle Browning and Jasmine Thompson) in Thursday's meet nailed their floor routines as ISU tried to overcome a sizable deficit to Iowa. Robey went 9.850, Browning scored a 9.900 and Thompson added a 9.875 in the comeback effort.
Top-25 Gauntlet
? The Cyclones will face their seventh-straight top-25 foe when they meet Iowa for the second time. The Cyclones have faced No. 25 Iowa, No. 18 Minnesota, No. 16 Michigan, No. 13 Missouri, No. 12 Nebraska and No. 5 Auburn.
Maccani Receives Big 12 Accolades
? Senior Ceilia Maccani won the balance beam title at Michigan with a career-high 9.850 while also scoring a season-best 9.750 on vault and a 9.750 on bars. The Racine, Wis. native's performance earned her a share of the Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week with Oklahoma's Melanie Root. It marks the first time the ISU three-event specialist received a weekly Big 12 honor. The event specialist honor goes to the top non-all-around gymnast in the Big 12 each week.
12 Straight Regionals
? Iowa State will look to advance to its 13th consecutive regional competition in 2009. An inspired second-place showing at the 2008 Big 12 Championship, cemented the Cyclones' trip to the Northeast Regional meet at State College, Penn., last season.
ISU Ninth in Average Home Attendance in 2008
? ISU closed out last season with the ninth highest home average attendance at 2,590. The Cyclones' figure was tops in the Big 12 with Missouri closest at 11th (2,267).
Big 12 Nail Biter
? The Cyclones led the 2008 Big 12 Championships until the last competitor of the meet. Oklahoma's Kiara Redmond-Sturms' (the conference gymnast of the year) 9.950 vault gave the Sooners the title by .1 of a point over ISU.
A Closer Look At No. 25 Iowa (7-3)
? The Hawkeyes are coming off the 194.375-193.800 win over the Cyclones on Feb. 12 in Hilton Coliseum.

Libby was the 2008 co-Big Ten Coach of the Year and has guided the Hawkeyes to two regional competitions (2008 and 2005) during her tenure. Libby was a member of the 1987 and 1989 Canadian world championship teams before competing at LSU, where she was the 1995 Central Region bar champion.
