The floor exercise should not let down Saturday's throng at Hilton Coliseum as all the Big 12 teams are positioned in the top 22 nationally on the crowd-pleasing event. Ranked sixth, Nebraska headlines the Big 12 squads with a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 49.230. Oklahoma is right on the Cornhuskers' heels as the Sooners sit in seventh with an RQS of 49.225. Only .140 of a point behind Oklahoma is 15th-ranked Missouri (49.085). Iowa State is within striking distance, as the Cyclones are 22nd and boast an RQS of 48.990.
The individual crown on floor should be equally exciting as the Big 12 lineups are loaded with some of the top competitors in the country on floor.
Nebraska's Kylie Stone enters the meet as the favorite, ranked sixth nationally. Stone carries a 9.905 RQS, with a season high of 9.925. Last season's Big 12 floor co-champion, Adrianne Perry of Missouri is ranked 12th nationally with an RQS of 9.890 and a season best of 9.925. Stone's teammate, Tricia Woo, is one spot behind Perry with an RQS of 9.890. Woos' best performance of the year matches Stone's at 9.925. Iowa State's Jasmine Thompson and Oklahoma's Kristin Smith are deadlocked at 20th in the country on floor with an RQS of 9.880 and season-high scores of 9.900.
The Cyclones' second event at the Big 12 Championship, vault, will be previewed Tuesday.
The fight for the floor title and the Big 12 crown starts Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum.
