Cyclones Smash Season-Attendance Mark

AMES, Iowa?The turnstiles at Hilton Coliseum were spinning at a record rate during Iowa State gymnastics meets in 2009. The Cyclones set a new a season-attendance record, by having a total of 16,242 fans come to ISU gymnastics competitions, bettering the previous record by over 4,000.
The new mark eclipses the previous benchmark of 12,052, set during the 2006 campaign.
Iowa State gymnastics fans still have a chance to catch the Cyclones in action this season, as ISU competes in the NCAA North Central Regional at Iowa City on April 4 at 6 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The top two teams from the regional advance to the NCAA Championships in Lincoln, Neb. on April 16-18.
