Herrera Ties For Third At Tiger Intercollegiate

AMES, Iowa ? Junior Ben Herrera recorded his best finish of his Iowa State career, tying for third at the UMB Bank/Tiger Intercollegiate in Columbia, Mo., Tuesday afternoon. Herrera carded rounds of 69-73-72 (214) to finish 2-under for the tournament and help the Cyclones place sixth as a team. The Cyclones carded a 298 this afternoon for an 891 three-round tally.
Kansas State won the team title at 874, two shots ahead of UT-Arlington and New Orleans (876).
ISU sophomore Nathan Leary tied for 23rd with rounds of 74-76-75 (225) and freshman Nate McCoy finished in a tie for 38th after posting a three-round 230 (77-76-77) tally.
SMU's Kelly Kraft and Xavier's Sebastian MacLean tied for first at 8-under (208). Kraft took home medalist honors by defeating MacLean on the second hole of a playoff.
ISU is back in action April 18-19, traveling to West Lafayette, Ind., to compete in the Boilermaker Invitational.
