Iowa City, Iowa?The Iowa State gymnastics team went through its regional practice Friday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and head coach Jay Ronayne talked to members of the media ahead of Saturday's North Central Regional.
Ronayne discussed how the Cyclones relish their role as an underdog.

"When you're the underdog, nobody really expects much out of you," Ronayne said. "We've got nothing to defend here. I'd rather chase than be chased."
Ronayne also felt there are many positives to competing at Carver-Hawkeye Arena for the Cyclones.
"Our kids love this arena," Ronayne said. "It's a comfortable place for gymnastics and a great place to compete. We've been through the experience here earlier this season, which should give us a little bit of an edge over some of the other teams in the field."
The real competition begins Saturday at 6 p.m. when the Cyclones face Florida, UCLA, Minnesota, Denver and Iowa.
