Iowa State Gymnastics Team Sets 2011 Schedule

AMES, Iowa?The Iowa State gymnastics team unveiled its full 2011 schedule Thursday that includes six home meets and the return of the Beauty and the Beast event Jan. 21.
The Cyclones begin their 2011 campaign with three consecutive home meets, starting with Auburn Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. Big 12 Conference home meets against Nebraska (Jan. 14) and Missouri (Jan. 21) follow the season opener.
The Missouri meet will also be the Beauty and the Beast event where the Cyclone gymnasts and wrestlers compete simultaneously. The Iowa State wrestlers will face Oklahoma at the event. The last Iowa State Beauty and the Beast event was Feb. 20, 2008 when the gymnasts and wrestlers both defeated Minnesota.
Iowa State will make trips to BYU (Jan. 29), North Carolina State (Feb. 4), Minnesota (Feb. 20), Iowa (Feb. 25) and Nebraska (March 13) this season.
Oklahoma (Feb. 11), Iowa (Feb. 18) and Minnesota (March 4) round out the Cyclones' home slate.
All Iowa State gymnastics home meets are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and are in Hilton Coliseum.
The Big 12 Championship will be held in Columbia, Mo., March 19 at 2 p.m.
