COLUMBIA, Mo. - No. 13 Missouri had five players score in double figures in an 87-54 victory over Iowa State Saturday night in Columbia.
The Tigers amped up the pace of the game, forcing Iowa State into a season-high 19 turnovers and held the Cyclones to a season-low 27 percent from the field. The 54 points was also a season low for the Cyclones.
Iowa State falls to 14-6 on the season and 1-4 in the Big 12, while Missouri improves to 17-3 overall and 3-2 in the league.
Missouri finished the first half on a 28-10 run to take a 48-26 lead at the break. The Cyclones went into a scoring drought and committed too many turnovers while the Tigers went on their run.
Iowa State had 12 turnovers and shot just 31 percent in the first half.
Dixon led the Tigers with 15 points, while Jake Anderson led Iowa State with 20 points, his first 20-point game as a Cyclone.
The Cyclones made just 4-of-22 from 3-point range in the contest. Jamie Vanderbeken made one 3-pointer, giving him 97 career treys to tie for 12th all-time in school history. He had five points in the game. Diante Garrett had six points and five assists in the loss.
Iowa State plays host to Texas Tech on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
