Iowa State was down by 10 after a lay-in for Dash Harris but quickly cut it down to two with three-pointers from Garrett and Christopherson and two free-throws by Melvin Ejim. Iowa State took its first lead of the second half at the 13:45 mark when Garrett was left alone for three to make it 48-47 Cyclones.

Iowa State was able to close that to 35-28 when Jake Anderson hit a three in the left corner at the first half buzzer.
Calvin Godfrey returned to the Cyclone lineup for the first time in three games and tied a career-high with 11 points in spite of limited minutes due to foul trouble.
