Browning is Big 12 Gymnast of the Week

AMES, Iowa ? For the second time this season, Iowa State junior gymnast Michelle Browning was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week the league office announced Tuesday.
Browning earned the honor after winning the all-around with a score of 39.225 in Iowa State's meet against No. 20 Minnesota on March 4 in Hilton Coliseum. The Houston, Texas, native also took first-place honors on floor against the Gophers with a season-high-tying 9.875.
Browning's floor effort was the last routine of the evening and helped halt a furious Minnesota rally on beam. If Browning scored any less than 9.875 on floor Iowa State would have lost to Minnesota.
Browning also won Big 12 Gymnast of the Week on Jan. 11, the first weekly award of the 2011 season.
