Browning Is Big 12 Conference Gymnast of the Week

AMES, Iowa - For the second time this season, Iowa State senior gymnast Michelle Browning is the Big 12 Conference Gymnast of the Week. The league announced the honor Tuesday after Browning delivered a career-high-tying 39.350 in the all-around to help Iowa State defeat Iowa on Friday night.
The Cyclones' 194.900-194.550 upset of No. 23 Iowa clinched the 2011-12 Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series for Iowa State. Browning played a key role in the victory, as she won three events (all-around, bars and floor) while placing second on the other two (vault and beam).
Browning registered a new career best on bars (9.875) at the competition where she anchored the Cyclones on all four events.
The Houston, Texas, native earned the Big 12 Conference Gymnast-of-the-Week honor for the seventh time in her career. By earning the award for the seventh time in her career, Browning equaled former Iowa State All-America honoree Janet Anson for the most weekly awards in Cyclone history.
