Cyclone Notebook
- Iowa State looks to get back on track Wednesday night when it travels to Lawrence, Kan. for a showdown with Kansas.
- The Cyclones are looking to avoid the first 0-3 Big 12 start in school history. The Cyclones haven't lost three-straight Big 12 games since the 2007-08 season when they started 1-4 in league play. That ISU team rebounded to go 7-9 and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament
- Iowa State limited top-ranked Baylor to its lowest point total (57) and worst shooting performance (38.0 percent) this season, but was unable to overcome Brittney Griner's 26 points and fell to the Lady Bears, 57-45.
- The Cyclones got a season-high 17 points from Anna Prins and 10 points off the bench from Lauren Mansfield. The duo shot a combined 61 percent from the field, but the rest of the team was held to just 6-for-28 shooting from the field.
- Chelsea Poppens grabbed a career-high six steals against Baylor, becoming the first Cyclone since Alison Lacey in 2009 to record five or more steals in a game.
- Freshman Brynn Williamson has heated up from behind the arc after a slow start in the season's first six games (28.6 percent). The guard has shot 47.1 percent (16-of-34) from long range during the last six games.
- Prins is averaging 14.0 points and six rebounds per game in Big 12 play.
- Chassidy Cole has 26 assists and just seven turnovers in the last eight games.
- Poppens has posted double-digit rebounds in eight of the 12 games she has played in this season. The junior leads the Big 12 and ranks sixth nationally averaging 11.4 rebounds per game.
- Poppens' six double doubles are second in the Big 12. Only Baylor's Griner has more with seven.
- Nikki Moody is shooting 84.6 percent (11-13) on free throws over the final five minutes of the game this season.
- Poppens is one of two Big 12 players averaging a double-double (Brittney Griner, Baylor). Her 17 rebounds against Butler tie the Big 12 high for the season (BreAnna Brock, Missouri).
- Iowa State has controlled the paint early this season. The Cyclones are outscoring their opponents by over nine points in the paint per game (25.8-16.5).
- Poppens needs three more rebounds to move into 10th place all-time at Iowa State. Barb Gordon (1991-94) is currently 10th with 624 career boards.
- Iowa State has an all-time record of 600-517 (.537), including 363-164 (.689) under the direction of Fennelly.
Streaks and Trends
- Poppens has six double-doubles in 12 games played this season. She has posted double-digit rebounds in 12-of-her-last-16 games dating back to last season.

- Iowa State has hit a three-pointer in 530 consecutive games. In that time (since Feb. 18, 1995), ISU has hit 4,100 three-pointers.
- This marks the 14th time in 17 seasons under head coach Bill Fennelly that Iowa State has lost two or fewer games during the nonconference portion of the schedule.
- Iowa State has won 65-straight regular season nonconference games at home.
- The Cyclones have had at least 20 wins in each of the last five seasons.
Series Notes
- Wednesday's meeting marks the 71st meeting in the all-time series between Iowa State and Kansas. KU holds a 43-27 edge in the series, including 24-8 in Lawrence.
- The Cyclones have won four-of-the-last-five meetings in the series, but just one of the last five in Lawrence (2010).
- In the last meeting between the schools, Iowa State avenged an earlier loss in Lawrence by beating KU, 72-36, in Ames. In the first meeting last season, Kansas used 31 points from Carolyn Davis to beat the Cyclones 86-85 in overtime.
