How it Happened
Williams scored eight of the Cyclones' first 12 points, netting her second triple at the 6:54 mark to make it 12-6. At the midway point of the frame, ASU came back within two (12-10) and tied it out of the timeout but ISU followed taking the next five. Alisa Williams put in a last-second layup to give the Cyclones a 21-15 lead into the second.
The Sun Devils cut their deficit to three with a triple as the second began, but Arianna Jackson answered with one of her own. Crooks halted a 6-0 Arizona State run to bring Iowa State ahead 28-24, and ISU remained ahead by four or more from there ending the half with a 42-32 advantage.
Crooks scored six in the first four minutes of the third, making it 50-41. Just before the media timeout, Reese Beaty delivered a 3 to again bring ISU's lead to double digits (53-43), and that bucket would spark a 9-0 run to force an ASU timeout with 2:42 to play in the quarter. ISU would only allow two Sundevil points from there as the Cyclones carried a 19-2 scoring run into the final quarter.
Williams opened scoring in the fourth with her fourth triple to put the scoreboard at 72-45. Iowa State's run from the third quarter remained alive as Brown sent in two free throws and a layup to cap it at 16-straight points, growing the lead to 31. The clock would hit zero with Iowa State up 26 at 90-64.
