AMES, Iowa - A long preseason will come to a close Friday for the Iowa State gymnastics team when the Cyclones stage their final intrasquad at Hilton Coliseum at 6 p.m. CT. The event is free and open to the public.
For the event, the Cyclones will split into two teams (Cardinal and Gold). The Cardinal team is comprised of: Elizabeth Stranahan, Caitlin Brown, Michelle Shealy, Megan McDonald, Sammie Pearsall and Annie Glasenapp. The Gold team is: Hailey Johnson, Henrietta Green, Milan Ivory, Camille Santerre-Gervias, Sara Townsend, Alex Marasco and Kristen DeCosta.
The two teams will compete against each other in a head-to-head format. For example, a gymnast from the Cardinal team will perform her vault, and she will be followed by a member of the Gold team on vault. A panel of celebrity judges will award a point to the gymnast that performed the better routine on the event. A running score will be kept throughout the meet before a winning team is announced at its conclusion.
The celebrity judges for Friday's intrasquad are: Iowa State head soccer coach Wendy Dillinger, ISU men's golf assistant coach Patrick Datz, ISU women's basketball director of operations Josh Carper, ISU head softball coach Stacy Gemeinhardt-Cesler, former ISU gymnastics All-American Janet Anson and former Big 12 Gymnast of the Year Michelle Browning. Cy will be responsible for breaking all ties.
Fans who are not able to attend the meet can watch all the action on Cyclones.tv.
