Browning Named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State senior Michelle Browning was named the Big 12 Conference Gymnast of the Week the league announced Tuesday. The Houston, Texas, native earned the award for the third time this season and a program-record eighth time in her Cyclone career.
Browning was rewarded for her 39.225 score in the all-around at No. 18 Minnesota Saturday. Her tally earned her a share of the all-around title, and she also won the bars crown (9.850) and shared top honors on beam (9.825).
The Cyclone senior has been on a hot streak over the past month, as she has either won or tied for the all-around title in Iowa State's last three meets. She has scored 39.225 or better in the all-around in her last three outings.
With her eighth gymnast-of-the-week honor Browning moved past former Cyclone All-America honoree Janet Anson for the most in Iowa State history.
