AMES, Iowa – Iowa State tennis head coach Armando Espinosa has announced the signing of English teen Lydia Green to a National Letter of Intent.
Green, a Melton, England native, spent the last two years training at IMG Academy in Florida, which has produced six Division I players in the last two years and is widely considered one of the top training academies in the United States.
“With the addition of Lydia we add a player that has been trained at a very high level,” Espinosa said. “She adds depth to our lineup and we expect her to have an impact on our team because she is a hard worker.”
Green was awarded for her consistent and dedicated work ethic as a recipient of the 2013 Ascender Award. She has consistently represented Great Britain as a junior and at the age of 15 captured the singles title in her county.
Green graduated with high academic honors as a student at IMG Academy.
