AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State gymnastics team (3-7 overall, 1-1 Big 12) will travel to Minneapolis, Minn. to take on No. 12 Minnesota (13-1) on Saturday, March 1 at 4 p.m. CT. The Cyclones make the return trip to Minnesota's Sports Pavilion just one week after hosting the Gophers in Hilton Coliseum, in a 196.525-194.750 loss.
Despite the loss, the Cyclones will still look to build on momentum they gained in their last time out against Minnesota. The Cyclones posted a season-high score of 48.800 on vault, led by a season-best 9.825 from Milan Ivory and a career-high 9.800 by Henrietta Green.
The Cyclones also got their best performance of the year out of All-American Michelle Shealy last weekend. The Snellville, Ga. native, who missed three meets early in the year, posted a season-high 9.850 on balance beam, as she continues to work her way back into All America form.
On uneven bars, Camille Santerre-Gervais continued to her streak of three consecutive meets scoring 9.900 or higher. Santerre's score of 9.925 against Minnesota was her second-highest score of the season, behind the school record-setting 9.950 she posted on Feb. 21.
