CANCUN, Mexico – Iowa State's women's basketball team (2-3 overall, 0-0 Big 12) fell to Idaho (5-1, 0-0 Big Sky), 97-65, in the final game of the Cancun Challenge in Cancun, Mexico. Seanna Johnson finished with a career-high 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Cyclones.
How it Happened…
Iowa State started off strong netting its first four shots from the field to take a 9-2 lead, but the Vandals used a 7-0 run to tie things back up and the two teams would maintain a tight battle from there with no team grabbing more than a six-point advantage in the first half. The Cyclones put together a strong push to close the first half on a positive note as Meredith Burkhall sunk a jumper and Seanna Johnson took one coast-to-coast to bring ISU within two at the half, 32-30.
The Vandals started the second half strong, going on a 16-6 run to take a 48-36 lead over the Cyclones by the under-5 timeout in the third quarter. Idaho extended its lead over the course of the third quarter as the Cyclone offense sputtered scoring just 15 points to close the third quarter. Idaho would really break things open in the fourth, going on to win 97-65.

Seanna Johnson. Johnson tallied a career-high 28 points and hauled in her 17th double-double of her career and her fourth of the season as she tacked on 12 rebounds. Johnson also shot 50 percent from the floor (10-of-20).
