Routine of the Year
Caitlin Brown recorded her second 9.950 of the season on beam at the March 13 home meet against Temple. The only Iowa State senior this season, Brown helped lead the team to a win over Temple on senior night with her tied career highs on beam, floor (9.875), and the all-around (39.400). Her 9.950 on beam tied the school record on the event for the second time this season, making her one of only three Iowa State gymnasts to score a 9.950 on beam more than once in a career.

Newcomers Bring Fresh Talent to ISU Roster
After seven seniors finished their Iowa State gymnastics careers in 2014, the Cyclones brought in eight newcomers to fill in the lineups for the 2015 season. Throughout this year, these newcomers have worked to make names for themselves and to help build the future of Iowa State gymnastics.
One noteworthy freshman was Haylee Young from Des Moines, Iowa. In the 2015 season, she earned her spot as an all-around competitor in all 13 meets. She was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week after placing within the top three on every event at the home meet against Centenary, earning first in the all-around and recording a career high on the uneven bars. Young received additional conference honors by being named to the All-Big 12 team in the all-around and becoming the 2015 Big 12 All-Around Champion.
There were several other newcomers who had successful first seasons in Iowa State gymnastics. Hilary Green tied for the team individual season high score on bars with a 9.900 on bars against Centenary. Kelsey Paz competed in all 13 meets, three of which she competed all-around. Courtney Middelkoop earned first place on vault her first time competing on the event at the home win over Temple. Briana Ledesma also earned a first place finish against Temple with her career high 9.875 on bars.
The newcomers contribute much of their success to the leadership of the more experienced gymnasts. The team's most influential leader this season is without a doubt Caitlin Brown.
This season, Brown has earned numerous awards and has led the team in almost all of their 13 meets. She qualified for the NCAA Gymnastics Championship as an individual in the all-around for the second consecutive year, where she earned a spot as a second team All-American on beam for the post-season. This matched her second team All-American honor on beam during the regular season. Brown was named the 2015 Big 12 Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the year, was a Big 12 uneven bars co-champion, and made that All-Big 12 team on beam and the all-around.
