AMES, Iowa - Iowa State's volleyball team will be looking to move their winning streak to a season-high five matches when they travel to Norman to take on Oklahoma on Wednesday. First serve between the Cyclones and Sooners will be at 7 p.m. inside McCasland Field House.
Wednesday's match will be televised on the alternate channels for Fox Sports North and Fox Sports Southwest, along with Fox College Sports Pacific. For information about what channel these are in your area, please contact your cable or satellite provider.
Tickets to the match can be bought online now (click here), or starting one hour prior to the match at McCasland Field House. Live stats will be provided by Oklahoma, here.
Both teams head into the match in a bit of unfamiliar territory: in the homestretch of the season, but preparing for their first of two meetings within 17 days. ISU survived a scare last Friday at Texas Tech, hanging on to defeat the Red Raiders in five sets. The Cyclones enjoyed a strong blocking week in the last two matches, with ISU posting 12.0 blocks against West Virginia, and 13.0 blocks at TTU. Iowa State has enjoyed success in Norman in recent seasons, picking up wins the past two seasons. ISU will be looking for its sixth-straight win over OU, which would be ISU's longest win streak in the series.
Despite its 13-11 record, Oklahoma has proven to be a challenging out for visiting teams to McCasland Field House in 2016. The Sooners have a win over TCU, and took a set off Kansas, Kansas State and Texas in Norman on the year. In last Saturday's match against KU, the Jayhawks had to pull back a pair of OU set points to prevent the match going five sets. The Sooners have plenty of dangerous hitting options, with all five of their starting hitters averaging at least 2.40 kills per set. Former ISU defensive specialist Rachel Manriquez, who redshirted in Ames in 2014, is the libero for Oklahoma.
