Turning Point of the Game
In the 15th minute, the Red Raiders were able to strike first. Freshman Jade King maneuvered her way past a couple Cyclone defenders to find just the right amount of space that she needed to get a shot off. She sent a curving left-footed shot into the top left corner of the net. King also scored Texas Tech's second goal of the game in the 26th minute.
Iowa State had the wind at their back in the second half, but still weren't able to put anything together. In the 57th minute, Texas Tech earned a free kick from just outside of the 18 yard box. Rebekah O'Brien blasted a shot into the top left corner and just outside of Cyclone goalkeeper Lindsey Hendon's reach. The Cyclones were able to get some action on the offense third in the second half, but weren't able to find the back of the net.
