No. 24 ISU Welcomes Big 12 Leaders, No. 3 UT to Hilton

AMES, Iowa – No. 24 Iowa State will be looking to pull off the upset against Big 12-leading and No. 3 Texas for the second-straight season this Saturday at Hilton Coliseum. First serve between the Cyclones and Longhorns will be at 5 p.m., with Cyclones.TV Powered by Mediacom televising the match.
Tickets to the match can be purchased online, here, or prior to the match at the Hilton Coliseum Ticket Office at the lower southwest corner of Hilton. Students get into volleyball matches for free, and can enter at the North entrance. The first 100 students will receive a voucher for a free walking taco. Fans with tickets to the football game earlier Saturday can get $2 tickets to the volleyball match by presenting their ticket at the Hilton Ticket Office. Youth Team Night participants can check in at the South Entrance.

Iowa State returned to winning form on Wednesday at West Virginia, sweeping the Mountaineers behind a strong blocking effort. ISU finished with 13.0 total blocks in the match while holding WVU to a .050 hitting percentage. The block was led by Avery Rhodes' eight blocks, while Alexis Conaway had six on the match. Grace Lazard had four blocks on Wednesday, moving up to 101 blocks on the season.
The top blocking team in the nation will be across the net from ISU in Texas on Saturday night. The Longhorns will be looking to take another step towards reclaiming the Big 12 crown at the site where their title defense broke up last season. UT, 12-0 in Big 12 play, averaged 3.31 blocks per set, led by redshirt senior Chiaka Ogbogu's 1.81 blocks per frame.
Last season, Iowa State defeated then-No. 5 Texas for the fifth time in program history in five sets. All five of the Cyclones' wins over UT have come inside Hilton Coliseum.
