AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State gymnastics team will be starting their post-season schedule this Saturday at the Big 12 Championships. Â There the Cyclones will be competing against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 7 Denver, and No. 22 West Virginia. The Big 12 Championships will take place at a neutral site for the second year running, Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas. The meet will be broadcast on FloGymnastics and will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
The Cyclones hope to continue their success from last weekend, when they earned their highest score of the season at No. 6 Alabama. The 196.600 was the best score from an Iowa State gymnastics team since the 2014 Big 12 Championships. Haylee Young helped the Cyclones to the score by leading the team on every event to earn her career-high all-around score with a 39.525. Young looks to win her second individual Big 12 Championship after becoming the 2015 Big 12 Champion in the all-around.
