AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team (9-2, 0-0 Big 12) has a pair of duals this Saturday as they take on Augustana (7-2, 6-0 NSIC) and Sioux Falls (5-3, 3-3 NSIC) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Cyclones are coming off a 7-0 sweep against in-state foe UNI. Iowa State was able to use singles play to power its way to a victory by winning all six matches against the Panthers.
Iowa State will look to continue its momentum from a six match-winning streak against the Augustana Vikings. The Vikings have been victorious in six of their last seven matches.
The Cyclones will finish off the weekend with a dual against the Sioux Falls Cougars. Kara Bunkers has been strong for the Cougars at the No. 3 position. Bunkers has gone 7-1 in singles play during the dual season.
Sami Budai and Regina Espindola will look to continue their undefeated streaks in singles play. Espindola is 10-0 and Budai is 6-0. Budai was recently named Player of the Week by the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday.
The dual against Augustana will be at the GREATLIFE Woodlake Athletic Club in Sioux Falls, S.D. at 1 p.m. The Cyclones will then take on Sioux Falls at 6 p.m. in Sioux Falls at Huether Family Match Pointe.
