AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State softball team (19-32, 3-12 Big 12) is set for a Saturday doubleheader vs. Western Illinois (19-27, 10-5 Summit League). The games have been moved up an hour due to the weather forecast in central Iowa. First pitch of game one is now set for 11 a.m. at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
The Cyclones, winners of three of their last four, will look to stay hot after a 15-4 victory over UNI on Wednesday. Admission is free to Wednesday's game, and all home softball games at the Cyclone Sports Complex during the 2017 season.

Cyclone Headlines
-The 15-run offensive explosion vs. UNI was Iowa State's second-highest output of the season (21, vs. Alabama A&M). The Cyclones piled up 13 hits, including back-to-back home runs by Talyn Lewis and Sami Williams in the bottom of the fourth inning.
-The Cyclones are coming off an historic series win at Texas last weekend. ISU won two out of three games against UT for its first-ever series win over the Longhorns. Entering the series, Iowa State was 1-48 all-time against Texas. It also marked ISU's first Big 12 series win since April 6, 2013.
-Emma Hylen is having one of the finest stretches of her career right now. The sophomore is 3-0 in her last three starts, including two wins against Texas. Hylen allowed just one earned run in 14.0 innings of action during the UT series to lead ISU to victory.
-The Cyclones not only stole the series vs. UT, they also stole six bases to break the single-season school record of 89 (2013). The season total is now at 96 stolen bases, led by Cathlin Bingham's 20, followed by Kelsey McFarland and Megan Schweitzer with 16 each.
-Williams broke Iowa State's single-season school record with her 17th double of the season in game two vs. Texas. Williams ranks No. 5 nationally and No. 1 among all NCAA DI freshmen in doubles.
-Williams is a finalist for the 2017 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year. Against conference foes, Williams leads the team in batting average (.378), hits (17), RBIs (10), doubles (6) and home runs (3). Williams' slugging percentage in conference play is .711, the best mark among all league batters. Williams also leads the conference in total bases with 32 in 15 league games.
-Iowa State, which won one Big 12 game in 2016, has now won three of its last four in conference play. The Cyclones were victorious in a 10-9 walk-off thriller in the series finale vs. Oklahoma State, notching their first league win of the season.
-Junior Kelsey McFarland provided the highlight the Cyclone win over OSU, crushing her first grand slam of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning. The shot gave Iowa State its first lead of the series, and was McFarland's third dinger of the year.
