Texas once again became the sole leaders of the Big 12 after last weekend's results saw Iowa State sweep the previous co-leaders in then-No. 22 Kansas and UT sweeping Texas Tech in Austin. The Longhorns rode a season-best .438 hitting percentage to the win, led by junior Micaya White's 17 kills.
The Cyclones have five wins over Texas all-time, with all five coming inside Hilton Coliseum. ISU's last victory over the Longhorns came in Ames in 2016. The two teams met in Austin on Oct. 6, with UT sweeping the Cyclones. Despite the defeat, Iowa State out-hit Texas with a .302 hitting percentage on the night, led by 11 kills from Grace Lazard and 10 each by Josie Herbst and Jess Schaben.
