AMES, Iowa – The No. 5 Iowa State men's and No. 13 women's cross country teams are set to compete at the 2018 NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17. The women are making their 10th consecutive trip to the national finals and the men are making their third.
The women's 6k race is set to begin at 10:45 a.m. from the Thomas Zimmerman Championship Cross Country Course in Maidson, Wisc. The men's 10k race will follow at 11:45 a.m.

-The Iowa State men's and women's cross country teams have qualified for the 2018 NCAA
Championships. This year's championships will be held in Madison, Wisconsin at the
Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
-The No. 5 Iowa State men's cross country team is fresh off its second straight Midwest
Regional Championship performance and is making its third straight appearance at the
NCAA Championships.
-The Iowa State women, ranked No. 13 nationally, captured their third Midwest Regional
title in a row. It was their seventh in the last eight seasons. They are making their 10th
straight appearance at the NCAA Championships.
-Just like at the Big 12 Championship, it was a clean sweep for Iowa State at the Midwest
Regional. Both the men's and women's teams were victorious and Cailie Logue and Edwin
Kurgat were individual champs.
-On the men's side, six runners finished in the top-25 to earn All-Region honors in Kurgat,
Andrew Jordan, Dan Curts, Chad Johnson, Milo Greder and John Nownes. For the women
it was Logue, Anne Frisbie and Amanda Vestri all posting top-25 finishes to make the
medal stand.
-The USTFCCCA announced its postseason awards. Amy Rudolph was named the Midwest
Region Women's Coach of the Year, Logue was named the Midwest Region Women's
Athlete of the Year and Edwin Kurgat was the recipient of the Bill Bergan Award.
-Iowa State's postseason run began at the Big 12 Championship. The men and women
both took home team titles, while Kurgat and Logue made it a clean sweep for ISU by
winning the men's and women's individual titles. It was the first time since 2003 that a team
brought home both team titles and both individual titles at the Big 12 Championship.
-Kurgat led a pack of ISU runners that accounted for five of the top-11 finishers. Jordan
(5th), Curts (6th), Greder (9th) and Johnson (11th) along with Kurgat made up the Cyclone
five earning All-Big 12 honors.
-Like the men, Logue paced the women to five individual All-Big 12 finishes. Logue (1st),
Frisbie (6th), Vestri (7th), Naumann (10th) and Larkin Chapman (11th) each earned AllConference
recognition for their finishes.
-Kurgat is Iowa State's first ever men's Big 12 individual champ and the first runner to ever
finish inside the top-3 at the conference meet.
-The Big 12 announced its Academic All-Big 12 teams. Milo Greder, Andrew Jordan, John
Nownes, Thomas Pollard, Karly Ackley, Abby Caldwell, Larkin Chapman, Annie Frisbie,
Anna Herriott, Cailie Logue, Kelly Naumann, Erinn Stenman-Fahey, Amanda Vestri and
Gwynne right were all first-team honorees. Zach Black and Dan Curts were named to the
second team.
