#CycloneNotes
• Iowa State lost to Kansas State, 78-66, Saturday afternoon in Manhattan, falling to 13-13 overall and 4-10 in Big 12 action.
• Iowa State boasts one of the top freshman duos in the nation in Lindell Wigginton and Cameron Lard...the pair makes ISU one of just two teams nationally, the other being Duke, to have two freshmen averaging at least 15 points per game in conference action...Wigginton is averaging 16.8 points and Lard 15.9 points against Big 12 foes, ranking them both among the top-10 in scoring in conference games only...with 733 points combined, they are already the third-highest scoring freshman duo in school history.
• Wigginton, a two-time Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honoree, is second among Big 12 freshmen in scoring average (16.0), just off the pace to set the ISU freshman scoring average record held by Curtis Stinson (16.2)...his nine 20-point games is an ISU rookie record and his 56 three-pointers made are second-most on ISU's freshman chart, just five behind Jake Sullivan's record...he needs to average 16.3 points over the final four conference games to become the first Cyclone rookie and only the eighth Big 12 rookie to score 300 points in league games.
• Lard, a redshirt freshman and last week's USBWA National Freshman of the Week, has perhaps been ISU's most consistent player in Big 12 play...he is averaging 15.9 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in Big 12 games, while scoring in double figures in 13 of 14...Lard has posted double-doubles in two of the last three games and eight times overall, which is the third most by a freshman in school history...in his last four games, he is averaging 18.8 points and 10.3 rebounds while making 69 percent of his shots (31-for-45)...he is one of three freshman nationally and one of just seven players overall averaging 13-8-2...he has already set the ISU freshman record with 51 blocks...he is 11th nationally shooting 64 percent from the field, which would break David Harrison's Big 12 freshman record of 63.8 percent.
• Donovan Jackson is second on the team averaging 15.0 points...he is 58-of-64 from the free-throw line, topping the Big 12 at 90.6 percent...he's made 83 threes this season, which ranks 10th in school history, and with 127 made in his career he ranks 13th all-time at ISU...he is one shy of Hurl Beechum and two away from Chris Babb on the career lists.
•  Zoran Talley Jr. has been in the Cyclone starting lineup the previous six games and is averaging 9.5 points and 2.0 assists during that stretch...he has scored in double figures in three of those games, including 15 points against Kansas...Talley Jr. has made 4-of-9 threes as a starter...he missed seven games in the middle of the season with a stress fracture in his foot.
