AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State tennis team will travel to Florida to face the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Thursday. Matches are slated to begin at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively.Â
This will be the Cyclones second match in their series against Bethune-Cookman, with their last match up being in 2014, where ISU won 5-1. Meanwhile, this will be their first ever match against Embry-Riddle.Â
On Saturday, ISU will meet with the Stetson tennis team at 9 a.m. in Deland, Fla. ISU leads its series with the Hatters, 7-0, with the most recent meeting being in 2017.Â
The Last ServeÂ
Last weekend, ISU traveled to Illinois for their first road matches of the spring season. First, they found a 6-1 win over the Illinois-Chicago Flames, but fell 4-1 the next day to Illinois State. Junior Annabella Bonadonna had a successful weekend, bouncing back 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 in her singles match that went into three sets against Rachel Le Comber of the Flames. Erin Freeman will also look to remain strong during the team's trip to Florida. Freeman was the only Cyclone to walk away with a singles win in the team's match up against Illinois State, defeating her foe, 6-1, 6-0.Â
