AMES, Iowa – Junior Meaghan Sievers is set to compete at the NCAA Gymnastics Championships in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday. Sievers recorded the top vault score in the Minneapolis Regional earning a 9.925, and will be rotating with Cal during the competition starting at 7 p.m.
Sievers has been a key member of the Cyclone gymnastics team since she began competing as a freshman. Her 9.925 at the Minneapolis Regional, tied her career-best vault from her freshman season against Illinois. Sievers also recorded a pair of 9.9s this season before her most recent vault at the Regional.
After making the NCAA Championships as a freshman, the Gary, South Dakota native has another chance to insert her name in the Iowa State record books by becoming an All-American. In order to achieve All-American status, Sievers must place in the top-eight on vault in her semifinal session.
