AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Gymnastics team will compete in the NCAA Gymnastics Championship Minneapolis Regional on Saturday starting at 4 p.m.
Iowa State will battle No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 12 Kentucky, No. 13 Denver, No. 24 Minnesota and in-state rival Iowa for a chance to compete in the NCAA Championships. The Cyclones can earn a berth to the NCAA Championships by finishing in the top two at the event.
If the team does not qualify for the NCAA Championships, individuals can qualify by either winning an event or finishing in the top two in the all-around competition. Iowa State has two gymnasts on the current roster who have previously advanced to the NCAA Championship. Last year, Haylee Young earned a spot in the all-around competition and during her freshman campaign Meaghan Sievers qualified on vault.
Saturday's meet will be broadcast on BTN2go. The link to the online broadcast can be found by clicking here. Tickets are available for purchase by clicking here. Minnesota will be providing live scoring during the Regional, here. The Iowa State Gymnastics Twitter account, @CycloneGYM, will be providing updates during the meet as well.
