DENVER – The Iowa State Cyclones (8-6, 2-2 Big 12) scored a 195.425 Sunday afternoon falling to No. 6 Denver (197.725) and No. 10 Boise State (196.375) at Magness Arena. Although the Cyclones lost, their 195.425 is very important to their RQS and postseason chances.
Iowa State had some notable performances this afternoon as Meaghan Sievers posted two 9.900s on floor and vault in her comeback after missing her first meet as a Cyclone last week. Molly Russ tied a career high 9.875 on floor, and several other Cyclones contributed over a 9.800.
Today's score left head coach Jay Ronayne very pleased with the way the team competed this afternoon.
"We came here with one of our goals to drop a low score, so one of those things is checked," Ronayne concluded. "We were also able to handle a couple of things we didn't see coming. Every meet we are growing as a team. We are growing in a lot of ways and the team is maturing as the season goes on."
