AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State gymnastics program announced its 2020 schedule on Monday. The
Cyclones will host four contests at Hilton Coliseum, while hitting the road for seven competitions during
the regular season.
Iowa State opens the season with a quad-meet at Arizona on Saturday, Jan. 11, matching up with
Arizona, Western Michigan and Rutgers. The Cyclones have faced both the Wildcats and Scarlet Knights
in the past two years, but meet up with the Broncos for the first time since the 2002 season.
Following the quad, the Cyclones open the home portion of their schedule against Big 12 foe West
Virginia on Friday, Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
After the home meet, Iowa State will enter a stretch of six-straight road meets spanning the tail end of
January and most of February, beginning with a trip to Athens, Georgia. Iowa State will meet up with the
GymDogs on Monday, Jan. 20, starting at 1 p.m. Central time, the second-straight season ISU has been
the opponent for Georgia's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day meet. The Cyclones will have the next
week off to prepare for a weekend doubleheader beginning on Friday, Jan. 31 at defending NCAA
Champions Oklahoma, set to start at 1:45 p.m. Iowa State will then head South to Denton, Texas for a
meeting with Texas Women's University on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m.
The Cyclones continue the road stretch with their first trip to Gainesville, Florida since 2003 for a tri-
meet with the Florida Gators and Big 12 counterpart Denver on Feb. 7 starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Cyclones return to St. Charles, Missouri for the second-straight year competing in the GymQuarters Invitational on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. The Cyclones finish their regular-season road schedule with their first-ever trip to Southern Utah to face the Thunderbirds on Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. Central.
Iowa State returns home for their final three home meets by welcoming Michigan State to Hilton
Coliseum on Friday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. The Cyclones renew the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series on Friday,
Mar. 6 at 6:30 p.m. riding a four-meet winning streak against the rival Hawkeyes. Iowa State wraps up
the regular season and home schedule by welcoming Air Force for Senior Night on Friday, Mar. 13 for a
6:30 p.m. meet.
The Big 12 Championships will be hosted by West Virginia in 2020. The meet will take place at the WVU
Coliseum on March 21 featuring Iowa State, Oklahoma, Denver and West Virginia.
The NCAA Regional Rounds will be hosted by Penn State, Oklahoma, Denver or UCLA beginning on April
2. The NCAA Championships are set for April 17-18 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth,
Texas.
