ISU Unbeaten In Doubles; Two Advance To Finals

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Iowa State tennis team went 6-0 in doubles action and had senior Maty Cancini and freshman Oumaima Aziz advance to the finals of their brackets Saturday at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.

Cancini will face Minnesota's Tiffany Huber after disposing of her teammate, Tina Kreinis, 6-4, 6-4, in the semifinals.

In doubles action, Cancini paired up with Ting-Pei Chang to go 2-0 with wins over pairs from UNI and Minnesota.

The duo of Christin Hsieh and Chie Kezuka dominated duos from Drake and Minnesota to finish 2-0, while Aziz and Margarita Timakova also finished the day unbeaten with wins against North Dakota and Milwaukee.

Aziz also advanced to the finals of her bracket in her first career tournament, taking care of Sopohia Haleas from Drake. She'll face Iowa's Erika Dodridge Sunday in the finals.
