ISU showed no quit, as a strong serving run by Izzy Enna helped guide the visitors back within a point at 21-20. The first three points of the frame went to Texas, but Iowa State held tough and continued to show great energy, with Mantz continuing to deliver in her RS role with kills. Texas got ahead by six, but the Cyclone offense finished strong to get the set back within two at 21-19. Despite a strong set by the visiting attack, which hit .314 in the third, #1 Texas boasted a .387 hitting effort in the final frame.
