Cyclones Beat Colorado, 6-1, To Stay Unbeaten

URBANDALE, Iowa – Iowa State improved to 3-0 this season with a 6-1 win against Colorado (1-1) Saturday afternoon at Life Time Fitness.
For the third time in three matches, ISU took the doubles point. After Maty Cancini and Ting-Pei Chang won, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles over the Colorado duo of Maria Campos and Megan Foster, the Buffs tied it up with a 6-2 win at the top doubles slot.
But Sofia Cabezas and Christin Hsieh proved up to the challenge with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles to put the Cyclones up 1-0.
In singles action, the bottom of the Cyclone lineup clinched the match.
Chie Kezuka remained perfect this season at No. 5 singles with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 win against Campos. Miska Kadleckova followed shortly after with a 6-3, 6-0 win against Megan Forster to put the Cyclones up 3-0 in the match.
Cabezas then clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Colorado's Fleur Eggink.
Naklo finished out the Cyclone scoring with a three-set win at No. 1 singles against Sara Nayar, winning 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (6).
Iowa State returns to action later this afternoon against North Dakota at 4:30 p.m.
