AMES, Iowa – Iowa State's cross country teams are set for their final meet of the year – the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Florida State at Apalachee Regional Park. The women's 6,000m race will begin at 9:20 a.m. CT, while the men's 10,000m goes off at 10:10 a.m.
The No. 6 Iowa State men qualified as a team for the sixth-straight season, while the No. 10 women are in for the 12th time in the past 13 years.

Women's Notebook
- The Iowa State women earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, finishing third at the Midwest Regional last week behind No. 5 Minnesota and No. 6 Oklahoma State.
- Cailie Logue won the individual competition in Iowa City in a 6K time of 20:45.08.
- Cailie Logue's Midwest Regional victory was her second of the season and 11th of her cross country career. She has three Big 12 XC titles and three NCAA Midwest Regional titles to her name as a Cyclone.
- Logue led four ISU All-Region honorees, joined by Ashley Tutt (9th), Dana Feyen (14th) and Madelynn Hill (25th).
- The Iowa State women have qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships as a team for the 12th time in the last 13 years.
- The Cyclone women had six earn All-Big 12 honors last month and saw four pick up All-Region honors last week. Doing the All-Big 12/All-Midwest Region double was Cailie Logue, Ashley Tutt, Dana Feyen and Madelynn Hill. Winrose Chesang and Janette Schraft earned All-Big 12 honors.
- Ashley Tutt, a transfer from Northern Illinois, was the 2019 MAC XC Champion and a two-time All-American in track & field. In her four meets, she has been the second Cyclone finisher behind Logue.
Men's Notebook
- Iowa State's men's team qualified automatically for the NCAA Championships, taking second at the Midwest Regional last week in Iowa City.
- Leading the way and picking up his third-straight race win was Wesley Kiptoo, with the Cyclone star winning in 30:17.81 to crush the Ashton Cross Country Course record.
- Kiptoo, picked up his seventh race win of his ISU XC career and led five Cyclones to All-Region honors, being joined by Thomas Pollard (10th), Gable Sieperda (12th), Ryan Ford (14th) and Timothy Sindt (20th).
- The Iowa State men's program has produced three individual men's champions in program history in John Nuttall (1989), Jonah Koech (1990) and Edwin Kurgat (2019).
- The Iowa State men's team have been in the top-10 at the last four NCAA XC Championships, the peak of which was a fourth-place finish in 2019.
- The Cyclone men are hoping their depth will make an impact on Saturday, as ISU had seven All-Big 12 performers for a third-straight season and followed that with five All-Region performers last Friday.
- Wesley Kiptoo, Thomas Pollard, Gable Sieperda, Ryan Ford and Timothy Sindt were both All-Big 12 and All-Region, while Festus Lagat (who was rested at the Midwest Regional) and Ezekiel Rop earned All-Big 12 honors last month.
