BLACKSBURG, Virginia – Jalaiya Bartley had a strong triple jump effort to lead Iowa State on the final day of the Doc Hale Elite Meet at Rector Field House.
A week after her best triple jump series in nearly two years, Bartley continued to show good form in her top event en route to a third-place finish. The Texan had strong second (40-1 1/4, 12.22m) and third (40-0 1/2, 12.20m) jumps to be in third at the halfway mark. Her fourth and final legal jump of the day was her best at 40-6 3/4 (12.36m).
In the final event of the competition, ISU's women notched a season-best in the 4x400-meter relay, with the quartet of Erkia Furbeck, Bria Barnes, Zakiyah Amos and Katarina Vlahovic taking seventh in 3:49.47. Barnes also ran in the individual 200-meter dash on Saturday, clocking a 25.22.
