AMES, Iowa – No. 23 Iowa State gymnastics team (9-3, 3-2 Big 12) posted its highest team score of the season and highest of the Jay Ronayne Era with a 196.825 Sunday afternoon at Hilton Coliseum. No. 1 Oklahoma (18-0, 5-0 Big 12) got the win on the day with a 197.425.
Today's 196.825 passed ISU's previous best under Ronayne, a 196.800 at Florida last season. Leading the way was junior Addy De Jesus, who tied Iowa State's school record with a 39.600 in the all-around, going 9.900 or higher on bars, beam and floor.
"This was the best performance beginning to end of the season so far," Ronayne said. "This was the experience we wanted to have going into next weekend. I know we're on pace to peak at the championships. The team is really ready because of the confidence they've built. Having someone like Addy has made an impact all season, she brings passion, fire and great gymnastics. We call her Ads and she really does add a lot to our team."
