THE SERIES
Iowa State's 4-3 win over Texas Tech earlier this season was one for the record books. It was the Cyclone's first-ever victory against the Lady Raiders, which snapped a losing streak that dated back to 1987. Iowa State is now 1-28 all-time against Texas Tech. This will be the third time the two squads have met in the Big 12 Championship.
BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP
Iowa State is seeking its first win at the Big 12 Championship in program history. The last postseason victory for the Cyclones came at the 1994 Big Eight Championship when they beat Missouri, 5-0.
The only individual on Iowa State's roster who has played in the Big 12 Championship is senior Maty Cancini.
Last year's freshman class was unable to experience the postseason due to the cancellation of the 2020 tournament caused by COVID-19. Cancini is 0-2 in doubles and 1-1 in singles in her career at the Big 12 Championship.
