THE SERIES
Iowa State will be looking to earn its first-ever road win against Oklahoma in an all-time series that dates back to 1981. The Cyclones are 0-17 in Norman and 1-45 against the Sooners overall. Their lone win came in 2001 when Iowa State pulled out a 4-3 victory at home.
Since the series began in 1976, the Cyclones have yet to win a match against Oklahoma State. The Cowgirls have a 47-0 record versus Iowa State and are 18-0 at home. The last time the two squads met, Oklahoma State swept the Cyclones, 7-0, in 2019.
ON THE COME UP
Iowa State tennis has reached an unprecedented level of success in Boomer Saia's third year at the helm. Before Saia's arrival, Iowa State's best finish in the Big 12 was the 2015-16 season when the Cyclones went 2-7 in conference play to finish in 8th place.
Iowa State currently sits at 4th place in the Big 12 standings with a conference record of 4-2. After dropping their first two matches to Baylor and Texas, the Cyclones rattled off four straight wins, including three over ranked opponents.
