Cyclones Finish 8th At Gopher Invitational

INDEPENDENCE, MN – The Iowa State men's golf team concluded their season-opener by placing eighth at the Gopher Invitational. The team finished with a three-round total of 867 (285-292-290).

Senior Lachlan Barker carded a 68 in the final round to earn a tie for eighth place in the medalist race (209). It was his 14^th top-10 finish and 23^rd sub-70 round of his career.

Barker recorded 12 birdies and had a first-round eagle. In his final-round 68, Barker had just one bogey and four birdies to climb 10 spots on the leaderboard.

Frank Lindwall, who posted a two-under 69 in the final round, tied for 23^rd at 214. Lindwall started with back-to-back bogeys in the final round, but went four-under in his last 16 holes to close out his week.

Nate Vance played consistent golf, finishing in a tie for 28^th at 216 (72-71-73).

The Cyclones will head up to Madison, Wis., for the Badger Invitational. The three-day tournament will begin on Sunday, Sep 26.
