KEY STORYLINES
-A win on Wednesday would move Iowa State to 6-2 in Big 12 play and would be the eighth time the Cyclones have won six of their first eight conference games.
-A win would also give the Cyclones at least 17 wins in their first 20 games overall for the fifth time in program history and for the first time since 2004-05, when ISU started the year 18-2 in its first 20 games.
-Ashley Joens was back in the Iowa State lineup Sunday at Baylor after missing the Texas contest due to Big 12 Health and Safety Protocols. She led ISU with 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists against the Bears.
-Joens leads Iowa State with 20.2 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game. The 2021 Cheryl Miller Award winner, Joens is one of five players nationally averaging at least 20.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game this season.
-Joens is circling in on becoming Iowa State's all-time leading scorer, entering Wednesday's contest 105 points away from Angie Welle's (1998-02) school record of 2,149 career points.
-Joens has 50 3-pointers on the season, with her and Lexi Donarski being one of two duos nationally to hit at least 50 3-pointers each this season (Minnesota's Sara Scalia and Deja Winters the other).
-Iowa State has 198 3-pointers as a team on the season (3rd in the country) and with two more would reach 200 3s in a season for the 20th-straight season.
-Emily Ryan leads the Big 12 and ranks fourth nationally with 6.6 assists per game. Against West Virginia on Jan. 2, Ryan tied Iowa State's school record with 16 assists.
