AMES, Iowa – Iowa State (18-10, 9-5 Big 12) heads to Kansas (17-9, 7-7 Big 12) for the final Big 12 road match this Saturday at 11 a.m. The Cyclones won the first matchup on Oct. 7, a victory that sparked ISU's eight match win streak.
Due to the Kansas home football game, the match will not be streamed.
LAST TIME OUT
Iowa State nearly forced a fifth set at No. 15 Baylor, extending the fourth set but falling 26-24 to drop the match. Iowa State won the third 25-19 while holding Baylor to .111 hitting in the frame.
Alexis Engelbrecht hit a career high of 12 kills at an efficiency of .524. Big 12 Rookie of the Week Maya Duckworth led the team with 14 kills while adding eight digs, two aces and a block to her stat line.
Eleanor Holthaus was the third Cyclone with double-digit kills while totaling a team-leading 12 digs for her 30th career double-double.
Solei Thomas hit seven kills and now stands just eight away from notching the 1,000th of her career.
KANSAS
Kansas' last four matchups have resulted in sweeps with losses to Texas and Baylor and victories against West Virginia and Kansas State. In conference play, Kansas holds the second-highest hitting percentage behind Texas with .248. Three Jayhawks hold averages above .300 to rank in the top 10 among all Big 12 players, led by Lauren Dooley with .339.
In the Oct. 7 match vs. Kansas, ISU put up 10 blocks, served eight aces and three Cyclones hit over 10 kills to lead to the victory. Iowa State has won three of the last four meetings and leads the all-time series 54-46-1.
