Iowa State Heads to No. 1 Texas

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State (17-8, 8-3 Big 12) travels to Austin to meet No. 1 Texas (17-1, 10-1 Big 12) this Wednesday, Nov. 9. The match begins at 7 p.m. inside Gregory Gym and will be streamed on the Longhorn Network.

LAST TIME OUT

The Cyclones' run of eight-straight victories came to an end as ISU fell short in the matchup vs. Kansas State. Cyclone Nation showed up strong, setting the fifth-largest volleyball attendance in Hilton history with 4,561. Iowa State now ranks 12^th nationally with an average attendance of 2,897.

Eleanor Holthaus hit over .300 with 15 kills while notching her ninth double-double of the season with 19 digs. Maya Duckworth also put up a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, her fourth of the season.

Holthaus solidified her 75^th-career match with double-figure kills. The mark of 75 is the new fifth-highest match total in Iowa State history.

Brooke Stonestreet performed to her ninth match to total 20 or more digs. Stonestreet put up 25 as she averaged 5.43 digs per set last week. Iowa State continues to lead league action with 15.81 digs per set while Stonestreet also leads Big 12 players with 5.33 digs per set. Stonestreet is the only current player averaging above five per set in Big 12 play.

TEXAS

Iowa State picked up its second ranked win of the season in the first meeting as Texas was ranked first nationally. Texas' loss to the Cyclones continues to be their only loss this season.

Texas returned to the No. 1 spot in the national rankings last week. The Longhorns have met West Virginia, Texas Tech and Kansas State since the last time Iowa State saw Texas. The Longhorns hold the nation's best hitting percentage with .335 while Asjia O'Neal also holds the top spot individually with .481.
