Cyclones Tie For 9th At The Prestige

La Quinta, Calif. – The Iowa State men's golf team tied for ninth in the strong field at The Prestige, carding rounds of 301-301-293 for a 54-hole 895 tally.

No. 18 Vanderbilt was the champion (868) in a tournament featuring 11 teams ranked in the latest Golfstat Top 50.

The Cyclones made steady improvement throughout the event. ISU was 18^th after round one but jumped into a tie for ninth after a second-round 301, the third-best team score on a breezy day where there was a two-hour wind delay.

Lachlan Barker paced the Cyclones, tying for 28th at 223. Barker had a stretch on the back nine today where he birdied four of six holes. Josh Hetherington and Jake Slocum tied for 39^th at 225. Slocum carded a 74 in the first and third rounds.

Iowa State is back in action at the Colleton River Collegiate, March 7-8 in Bluffton, S.C.
