Diab Earns Second Event Specialist Weekly Honor

AMES, Iowa – Maddie Diab was named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week for the second time following her historic performance on floor against Lindenwood.
Diab earned a perfect 10.000 on the event, setting a new career high after earning a 9.950 the previous week. Her score was only the fifth perfect score in school history and the second to occur in Hilton Coliseum.
Diab is only the second gymnast in school history to earn a 10.000 on floor and is the top points getter on the event for the Cyclones. She has been a strong performer for Iowa State this season, with six scores of 9.900 or higher so far. She is currently ranked third in the Big 12 on floor and is 21st nationally with an NQS of 9.910.
Diab and the Cyclones are taking on the Iowa Hawkeyes as part of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series this Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. The meet will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and is the last home meet of the season.
