Allie Petry got her first start of the season at libero and totaled 13 digs, three assists and an ace in the victory.
Eleanor Holthaus again led both teams in kills with 17, matching her mark she totaled last night against Iowa. Holthaus was even in offense and defense as she also brought in 10 digs.
SET ONE
The Cyclones and Raiders repeatedly tied each other up as six ties were seen until the Cyclones began to break away on a Solei Thomas kill to set off on a 10-2 run to lead 18-10. Iowa State owned the lead from there to take the frame by a score of 25-14. Iowa State has now held an opponent to 15 points or less three times on the season. Holthaus led with five kills and freshman middle blocker Kelsey Perry took control of the set as she sent three kills over and put up two blocks.
SET TWO
At 5-4, Wright State began to stretch their advantage with a 7-0 run on account of .500 hitting to lead at 15-6. Iowa State called a timeout and came out of it with a block by Mariah Mitchell and Alexis Engelbrecht. The Cyclones continued to battle as they took three-consecutive points to cause a Wright State timeout at 20-14 after two Raider errors and an Iowa State block. A 3-0 scoring run sealed it at 25-16 for Wright State while Iowa State hit with a negative percentage in the set.
SET THREE
Iowa State came back to hold the advantage throughout. The lead was stretched to four on a Petry ace but Wright State responded to bring it back within one at 11-10. The 25th kill of the match went to Abby Greiman to bring Iowa State's lead to 13-10. On a Greiman serve, Perry hit her fifth kill of the match to continue to pull away and win the set 25-16.
SET FOUR
ISU continued the offensive power, leading by 10-5 before Wright State came back to trim the Cyclone lead to one despite hitting under .200. The Raiders got the score advantage on a block at 14-13, but the lead flipped between teams a total of three times late in the set. Iowa State dialed in 13 kills at .355 to win the match 3-1, ending the game on a 5-0 run.
