AMES, Iowa – Iowa State (17-9, 8-7 Big 12) continues its trip through Texas, next meeting No. 21 Houston Friday, Nov. 17 for the first time since 1983. The Cyclones meet the Cougars following Iowa State taking a set from No. 5 Texas at Austin Nov. 15. The matchup will be Iowa State's fourth straight against a ranked opponent.

1 – Brooke Stonestreet stands one dig away from 1,000 on her career. The libero currently ranks 19th in ISU history with 999.
2 – Christy Johnson-Lynch is two Big 12 wins away from the fourth-most in conference history by a volleyball head coach. Johnson-Lynch tallied her 200th on Nov. 10 vs. No. 14 Kansas.
4 – Nayeli Gonzalez is now a four-time Big 12 Rookie of the Week, becoming the second in ISU history to earn four. The next highest in the conference in 2023 is two.
The 2023 Cyclones
Nayeli Gonzalez was named Big 12 ROTW for the fourth time after becoming the first Cyclone since 2008 to have a 30-plus kill match with 31 and a 30-plus point match with 36.0. Gonzalez' 31 kills is fourth-highest individual single-match total and the highest by a freshman in school history. It is also the highest match total in the rally scoring era by a Cyclone.
Morgan Brandt had a career-high 61 assists Nov. 10, the first 60-plus assist outing since 2016. Brandt ranks 15th in ISU history with 1,489. Brooke Stonestreet brought in over 20 digs in both matches vs. Kansas, totaling 18 20-plus dig matches on her career which ranks T-No. 6 in ISU history.
Both Alexis Engelbrecht (14) and Lilly Wachholz (15) tallied new career highs in kills vs. Kansas, both achieving their totals hitting over .300.
No. 21 Houston (17-7, 10-5 Big 12)
Houston (.248) and Iowa State (.238) have hit comparatively in conference action and rank fourth and fifth in the Big 12, respectively. Houston leads the league by holding Big 12 opponents to .176 hitting and averages 13.71 kills per set and 1.65 aces per set to rank second.
Iowa State and Houston have only met at neutral sites in the all-time series history, with the previous meetings happening in 1979 and 1983.
