AMES, Iowa – Iowa State volleyball made an addition to the 2023 squad with outside/right side hitter Reaghan Larkin. Larkin joins the incoming freshman class of Nayeli Gonzalez and Pam McCune.
Larkin comes to Ames from Brentwood, Tennessee with Iowa State roots as both of her parents were student-athletes at ISU. Her father pitched for the baseball team while her mother was a butterfly/freestyle swimmer from 1993-98.
"Reaghan is a wonderful addition to our program," head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch said. "She is an exceptional student-athlete, and her connections to ISU makes her commitment to our program even more special. Reaghan can hit outside or right side and has a very powerful arm. She has carried a big load for her teams offensively and she'll be able to score at the next level. We are really excited to start working with this awesome young woman."
Larkin played for Ravenwood High School where she played a pivotal role in helping the team to a 2021 Tennessee Class AAA state runner-up finish and 2022 District Championship. Larkin played as a middle blocker her freshman year and came back from injury to produce 2.8 kills per set in her junior campaign and 3.6 kills per set her senior season. Larkin posted a total of 705 kills and 130 blocks through her career.
As a senior, the hitter was named to the All-District and All-Region Tournament teams. Larkin was also an All-Mid State Honorable Mention selection.
In her club career, Larkin's team earned a national runner-up finish at 2019 AAU 14U Premier Nationals. Larkin was also named to the AVCA All-America and Ultra Ankle JVA Class of 2023 watchlists.
