Following a dominant outing to begin the regular season, several members of the Iowa State men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Lincoln this weekend to compete at the Greeno-Dirksen Invitational. The men's 8K race is set to begin at 10 a.m. with the women's 5K following at 10:50 a.m.

The Field at the Greeno-Dirksen Invite
Teams across NCAA Divisions I, II, III as well as several NAIA and junior college teams are set to compete this weekend in Lincoln. The meet will be scored in two divisions, the Red division (NCAA DI) and the Gold division (NCAA DII, DIII, NAIA & JUCO). Teams in the Red division competing with Iowa State include Creighton, Drake, Kansas, Nebraska, Northern Colorado, Omaha (women only) and Wichita State.
Spectators and Parking Information
There will be a $5 entry fee for spectators. Spectator parking will be in Mahoney Park. Entrance to the park is at 70th and Fremont Street.
Iowa State Women Command Cyclone Preview
The Cyclone women were dominant in their first meet of the season, taking 13 of the top-14 individual finishes at the Cyclone Preview to pick up a team win. The USTFCCCA preseason top-30 team won the meet with 15 team points to runner-up Northern Iowa's 50. Madelynn Hill was the top finisher in second place (16:26.2) while fellow 2022 NCAA Championships qualifier Dana Feyen was third in 16:45.2.
Cyclone Men Complete Sweep at Cyclone Preview
The Iowa State men also had a strong showing at their home meet as Silas Winders ran to an individual title in the 6K race with a time of 17:57.3. Kelvin Bungei ran for third place in 18:11.2 while Quinton Orr was also among the top-five in 18:20.3.
Hill Earns First Big 12 Weekly Award
Following a solid performance at the season opener, Madelynn Hill was selected as the Big 12 Women's Runner of the Week. It marks the first time in her career that she's earned the honor. Hill was the top scoring individual finisher and runner-up at the Cyclone preview, finishing 19 seconds ahead of teammate Dana Feyen in third place.
Iowa State Makes Preseason Impression
Earlier this week, the USTFCCCA released its preseason regional and national cross country rankings for both NCAA DI men and women. The Cyclone women checked in at No. 2 in the Midwest regional poll and No. 27 nationally while the men were third in the regional poll and cracked the top-25 in the national standings.
